About Us
Our plant in Nordhausen was formed through the merger of HBM, based in Halle (Saale), and NOBAS, based in Nordhausen. Both companies have a long history in the construction machinery industry. The first tractors were produced at the Nordhausen site even before World War II, followed later by excavators, which were manufactured there until 2004.
In Halle (Saale), HBM manufactured motor graders as part of the BAUKEMA combine from 1956 to 1990. In 1993, both companies were acquired by GP Günter Papenburg AG and merged the following year to form HBM-NOBAS GmbH. Production of the graders was relocated to Nordhausen.
From 1998 to 2015, HBM-NOBAS was a division of the GP Günter Papenburg AG. Seit 2016 firmiert sie wieder eigenständig als GP Papenburg Maschinenbau GmbH.
